The IRTE Conference

Volvo Trucks

Volvo Trucks are delighted to be sponsoring the IRTE Conference. As a global manufacturer of trucks, we are closely involved in working with operators in all sectors to deliver transport solutions that help reduce vehicle whole life operating costs, lower emissions (including noise), assist compliance and keep drivers and road users safe.

In terms of the urban construction truck and delivery environment, Volvo Trucks have CLOCS compliant products available and working in the UK now. Volvo is also a leader in reducing the environmental impact of passenger transport in urban areas with over 600 Hybrid powered buses now running in Britain's cities.

Care for the Environment and Safety are core values for Volvo and as far back as 1972, the company's CEO published an environmental policy. In fact, Volvo's commitment to Care for the Environment has not changed in the last forty three years. Volvo is also involved with The Centre For Sustainable Road Freight, where Cambridge and Herriot Watt universities are working with customers and suppliers to test and find solutions to make road freight economically, socially, and environmentally sustainable.

With Dynafleet, we are leaders in on-board telematics and continue to develop the connectivity of our trucks to the workshop. Research recently carried out by Volvo Trucks on over 3,500 case studies, showed that as much as 80% of unplanned downtime could be avoided by preventative maintenance and connectivity.

Like the IRTE, Volvo Trucks are focused on helping transport operators meet the challenges of the logistics industry today and in the future.
